Mission
Bright Ideas Enrichment Center (previously Lighthouse Learning Academy) exists to provide parents with a trustworthy, safe, secure environment in which their child can love, learn, and laugh. As one of the best child care centers in Cookeville, we aim to provide families with a premier, faith-based Christian preschool facility that stimulates and nurtures children's growth and development. We will provide each child opportunities to build self-esteem that is essential in the adjusting, exploring, and growing stages of child development. We believe it is important to establish cooperative relationships with parents and families. We encourage and foster positive parent/teacher relationships which support children in their development.
Education Philosophy
We employ developmentally and age-appropriate practices. These best practices focus on what is appropriate for each child regarding their environment, learning, and development. Children flourish and learn best when developmentally appropriate practices are used. In our program each child will be offered lessons and activities that will enable them to best develop physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially based on Biblical principles. We believe each child is unique and will be treated as an individual. Each child will be offered structured activities as well as opportunities for exploration and self-discovery.
Open-Door Policy
Parents are welcome and encouraged to visit Bright Ideas Enrichment Center at any time. Visiting your child during their busy day gives you a chance to see your child and participate in an activity with them. We will offer at least one scheduled Parent/Teacher conference annually. The conferences will be used to discuss your child's progress and answer any questions that you might have.
Meals & Nutrition
Bright Ideas Enrichment Center provides breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks that are served from our kitchen. We serve food based on USDA standards to all of our children at no additional charge. We select foods and plan menus that will not only meet your child’s nutritional needs, but also encourage him/her to try new foods and make healthy choices.
Classrooms
Each classroom is specifically designed to meet the developmental needs of young children. We provide experiences that challenge and support each child’s cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical and creative development. During the course of the day each child has opportunities to create, explore the environment, develop personal interaction skills and learn problem solving skills and concepts through hands on experience.

Teachers
Bright Ideas Enrichment Center goes to great lengths to ensure that our teachers meet the qualifications set by the state of Tennessee and that they complete extensive training and orientation programs. Our teachers are carefully selected based on their education, previous teaching experience, love of children, and the ability to bond and effectively communicate with their students. All staff members are subjected to stringent background screenings and references are thoroughly checked. In addition, our teachers regularly undergo observation and evaluation.
